Honestly, Piccolo doesn’t look exactly how I was imagining, but think about it guys; Marsters is REALLY serious about portraying the character right, and maybe the essence of Piccolo is still there. PLUS, both pictures of him appear to have a bright source of light shining on him, so he could very well be greener than the images make it seem. I’ll save my real opinions for when I see the actual trailer.
Aside from that, the other pics look good. I honestly believe that Chatwin is THE best person to play Goku. He LOOKS like Goku.

Seeing Piccolo defianlty made my year better!! I have to admit One of my favorite pics is defiantly the Goku and Master Roshi pics!! The fighting looks like it’s going to be true to Dragonball.

piccolo looks really bad. i had so much faith in fox to get him right and they just failed. no antennae is not okay, in my opinion. it takes away from piccolo’s identity. i think they could have done a much better job. hopefully the make up will change with the story…
on the other hand, i think chatwin looks great. i think he’ll make a great goku.

I agree- he does look a lot more like Freeza in one of his later forms, IMO. But mostly he reminds me of…er. Hell Boy? I never actually saw the movie, but it looks like the same make-up artist or something…I dunno.
Meh. He’s not that great. Mainly I wish he had much bigger ears, but then if you look at his ears as compared to other characters’ ears in DB they probably weren’t really meant to be super oversized. Toriyama just drew everybody’s ears big.
Um…from a fangirl’s perspective, I wish he were handsomer…eheh. I’m blushing here, but I feel like they could’ve left off a lot of the make-up, kept him more along the lines of Marsters true face, and it would’ve been fine. Well, better, IMO.
But honestly, I think seeing the trailer itself will be what really solidifies my opinion of him. Justin, meanwhile, looks pretty cool. Nothing too new to look at- but his outfit does look more like Goku’s than anything I remember seeing yet. Lalala. But Piccolo’s my favorite…meep. Don’t mess ‘im up, please?

Guys, I’ve been thinking about this for awhile, I think FOX has been fucking with us for a while, I think there sending out fake shit, even the posters and stuff. That source awhile back (forgot his name, wasinthemovie or something) swore bumlma had full hair and stuff and we’ve seen interviews where its mentioned too. Same with roshi and no beard and stuff. I think that we will see bulma FULL blue hair, and classic roshi and everything… somethings brewing.

This new look makes me wonder how his acting is going to be. Having him look exactly like the show would not make you consentrate on his acting. I love how James Wong made him believable.

I’m actually really impressed with chatwin, i think he’ll do just nicely. Well piccollo may not look 100% the part, due to paleness/lack of antennas, but im sure he’ll act the part just fine.
So Bulmas hair is not completely blue, Piccolo doesnt have long antennas, Roshi doesnt have a turtle shell…Changes must be made, sacrifices must be made. DRAGONBALL MUST BE MADE.

I’ll be damned if they change the whole theme of DB altogether.
Spider-man kept it’s theme that with Great power comes great responsibility.
If they change the reason of why Dragonball was so great to many of us then why not be angry at this movie.
What I’m talking of is beyond Piccolo’s make-up,it’s about all the changes we’ve seen so far altogether.
Let us not hope that they change it comepletly.
And we were Promised by James and Chatwin that it wouldn’t be changed.
I hope we don’t get screwed over that matter as well.

my hopes for this movie were so high up until now. Everything looked and sounded great, with Goku going to high school an exception, but Piccolo doesn’t look anything like the anime whatsoever. I just dont know how much i’ll enjoy watching that piccolo on screen. Im still stoked for the movie, but i dont know. that doesn’t even look like piccolo. I bet they’re going to screw up the saiyan outfits in the sequels even worse than they did with piccolo

Kay, I’m not sucking FOX, but Dragonball was my life growing up. I didn’t have much friends at all, so I buried myself in DBZ, and I’ve always wanted to see Dragonball come to life for real. Dragonball: The Magic Begins was horrible, and it can’t get worse than that. All I’m saying is you guys are complaining about the thing you wanted to see the most. ill be honest, when i first saw these pics I saw Chatwin and I was like dammmm that looks like Goku!!! Then I saw Piccoli and I was like WTF! Thats Buffy Vampire Slayer written all over it….but i stepped away for 10 min came back look at the pics again and you know what he doesn’t look exactly like the original iwas expecting it to be darker too (he probably is green just the lighting makes him look a light green/yellow) but looking at it now I can accept that as Piccolo! he does look good for evil piccoli i wonder if they wil lchange it for good piccolo though!

What Jeff is basically talking about is the fact that we didn’t get what we were promised.
We spent months thinking Piccolo was supposed to be green. that’s what we were told by Marsters himself.

Green is a problem on film. Remember, they use “Green Screen” for cgi because that color doesn’t show up on film and they can easily put FX over it. If they made Piccolo the original green, he would disappear and you couldn’t really see him well. They had to pick a shade of green that was slightly yellowish so he would stand out on film.

1. in most of the set pics we’ve seen they weren’t using green screen.they were using BLUE screen.
2.when were we told Piccolo wasn’t going to be green? in most of Marsters interviews he even said Piccolo was going to be green. so wtf is up with that?
3.I’m just on Jeff’s side with what he’s saying about subject #2 which I listed above.
I for one don’t hate the movie.

And he finally sees it! I loved the idea of this movie! I wanted it soooo bad and supported it for so long, hell I even tried to get people to give it a chance we still haven’t seen the trailer or official pics yet!
Well let me tell you something. I silently sat back for a while and watched news slowly trickle in and my love for this movie quickly became confusion, then hope, and now hate. I have every right as a fan to say that this is not what I want. I see that some of the people that I shot down were not so very wrong they just saw what took me a long time to relies. We have all been looking at a big pile of fail.
I was stupid as hell now that I see it. I was so very trusting to give FOX my hopes and we get this? This is going down in my books along with all of the Resident Evil movies as the WORST LAM ever.
If you want this movie to happen then let it happen, and if it is good then its good but from what I see its shit. Utter shit made to sell and make money and to step on fans hearts. Im sticking to my guns.

I love how they showed the true evil of Piccolo. Fox did a amazing job transforming Piccolo into reality!! It’s 10x more beliviable. The new villianess look makes you concentrate on his ability and not on his appearence on the show. People doubted Heath Ledger Joker. People said Heath Ledger was to scary and not Jack Nicholson enough. Guess what????
Heath did a Oscar worthy performance.

I first thought chatwin looked ace then saw piccolo. I think everyone is gutted looking at him for the first time. They had a list to check off when designing him for the movie and theyve missed the main ones. Weve all discussed the bad points about him but it is the demon king piccolo and theyve given him the old namekian head rinkles. But i cannot for a second imagin a place full of the most peacefull race of namekians when they look like a vampire off buffy. The antenna might grow out of the little holes aswell if he needs to sense sumthing.
If hes about 7 foot, has the attitude and voice ill be happy enuf. I like marsters but even he must have been expecting dissapointment having watched the series with his kid.
Also hes been locked up for thousands of years is greyish white and has no antenna.

I think he looks alright. This movie is an adaptation. Im sure everyone who worked on this movie did the best they can to please the fans. I think we should all support this movie even if piccolo is a different shade of green..because well…. ITS DRAGONBALL! I will be looking forward to seeing this movie no matter what! And I like the dragonball.. Its much better than the ones in the magazine scans. Goku looks pretty bad ass too
plus the setting looks VERY dragonball to me!
