Anime News Network  translated the text featured on the recent Dragonball Japanese poster, and here is what it says:

Just as in the previous teaser poster, the new poster’s Japanese text reads when translated: “The legend comes to life.” The new poster also adds the following text: “Opens worldwide at maximum speed on March 13, 2009.”

Worldwide? Previous reports indicated that the US release for Dragonball would be April 10th, 2009. Has Fox bumped up the release date? According to Box Office Mojo, the only other movies being released on March 13th are Paramount’s The Lovely Bones and Buena Vista’s Race To Witch Mountain. Warner Brother’s adaptation of Watchmen is being released the week prior.

Update: Looks like it was just a mistranslation on ANN part. The US/Canadian release date it still 4-10-09.

Our friend Daphnée of Dragonball Film received an interesting spoiler about Piccolo from Cloud Strife. If you don’t want to be spoiled don’t keep reading (if it turns out to be true!).

SPOILER
I think everybody remembers how is born Piccolo. Kami-Sama has separated the devil part of himself, and created a sort of evil clone: Piccolo. So in the movie, Piccolo will have a quite similar power. According to Cloud, Piccolo will be able to reveal the dark side of anybody, and to create an evil clone of the people.

UPDATE: JPHongUhu has an update on the Dragonball Teaser from Christina Inman:

The Director of Promotion confirmed to me that the Teaser/Trailer is set to release in Japan within the next two months, i’m not entirely sure which month, but there is definitely a teaser to come.

DBthemovie reader ANON-UNKNOWN got a responce from Christina Inman, in which she once again contradicts a previous statement. This time regarding the Dragonball teaser trailer.

A small teaser with a few scenes of the film was shown at Cinema Expo 2008, So maybe the beginning of next month or at the end of this, you might see one soon

Oh really Ms. Inman? Well, I guess we’ll just have to take your word for it! Maybe the Space Chimps rumor was true after all.

Screen Daily has a report on the 20th Century Fox presentation at the 2008 Cinema Expo in Amsterdam. According to the site, Dragonball footage was shown at the reel presentation. 

Delegates were also shown footage/trailers/teasers for thriller Mirrors (starring Kiefer Sutherland), French box-office hit Taken (starring Liam Neeson), Mark Wahlberg’s new film Max Payne, The X-Files: I Want To Believe, Dragonball, romantic comedy Bride Wars (starring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway), Night At The Museum 2, and unseen footage of Tom Cruise Second World War drama Valkyrie.

Is the trailer closer than we think?

RUMOR: I was told that the teaser may appear with the July 18th Fox film Space Chimps. Not sure how reliable this may be so take it with a grain of salt. 

UPDATE: Christina Inman tells Dragonball Live that the teaser will be released in November or December (Which we reported here). 

UPDATE 2: Here is what Film1 has to say:

“It’s definitely true that they’ve shown a teaser of Dragonball, but it’s just a couple of short scenes. Because of the enormous amounts of trailers, teasers, clips and films shown at the Expo, I can’t remember exactly what I saw, but I remember that it was cool!”

The internet has been a buzz with the talks of a supposed early draft of Dragonball written by Ben Ramsey. Initially I wasn’t going to post this, but considering the film has gone through several major rewrites since then I’ll give it a shot.

UPDATE: Movieland reported that Fox has supposedly confirmed the leaked script is fake.
