Loading ...We’ve Waited So Long For The Trailer…
…But it looks like we have to wait even longer than expected.
We asked a friend of our’s (who just so happens to be friends with a few folks at Fox and a very reliable source) if he could get us an update on the trailer - you know, the one which was supposed to debut with Max Payne but was then pushed back until December? This was Fox’s response:
We had hoped to finish it in time for that delivery but it looks like it may be debuting later now. Still waiting to hear for sure.
Of course if we hear of any updates, we’ll keep you posted.

Wow, I hate bad news. I was really looking forward to this trailer back with Maxe Payne. Then I started to really look forward to it with The Day the Earth Stood still, even researched that movie so I’d be really excited to see it. Now they just fuck us over even more….

What we see is what we are getting. There is NO excuse at all. Fox better dish out the trailer. They’ve had long enough to work/prepare/polish the trailer. A Trailer! Its about 1 minute and 30 seconds! HOW THE HELL CAN THEY NOT BE DONE!? Where the people working on this and where just screwing around and not taking this seriously?! I am calling serious bullshit on every decision so far by Fox. Failing to promote the film with all of the posters possible clips they could have given to ign regardless if it was done or not. I cant even begin to wonder what Fox is thinking. I would have never had thought that this would become a direct to DVD but this is not looking good. I have problems with this film but I really want this to be BIG so DragonBall can spread and people will realize that this isn’t some show to make testicle jokes about. GODDAMN IT FOX QUIT FUCKING AROUND AND RELEASE IT ALREADY!

Why couldn’t we have some of these? If they are trying to create hype then its working but its giving them a terrible name. They cant be THAT stupid? Can they? The way its looking it will be delayed either way. Closing in on less than 4 (3 if you are Japan) months and delaying a trailer that we should have gotten like 4 months ago is a bad sign. So Dragonball is getting an earlier release, but needs to push back the trailer? By the time we get the trailer, the movie will be out the next day.
Either Fox is giving Wong problems, or Wong is giving Fox problems. Then again, some of the best movies of all time were born out of struggles like this. Star Wars, Citizen Kane, and Ghostbusters all faced the same problems.

It’s going to piss me off if this becomes one of those “good” movies that fails due to poor marketing and bad promotion.
Hell,if it wasn’t for sites like this one,we wouldn’t know a damn thing about this movie except that they started production like exactly a year ago. Regardless of all those hurdles…a team dedicated to a trailer had sufficient time for at least a 10 second teaser. FOX is not taking this movie very seriously. Which is hard to say given the 100+ million dollar budget. FOX is already losing money. The longer they wait to promote the closer they are to digging their own grave. I suggest that whoever has these connections to FOX be rather rude and demand SOMETHING from FOX. Our patience is wearing thin. Its not like this movie is coming out in 8 months. Less than 3-4 months is getting very very close.

The only thing I have to say is that this trailer may not be like any other. Think about all the CGI work that went into the film. Remember how terrible the leaked trailer looked with CGI? this is just a marketing strategy to create hype. lots of companies to this to a fanbased project depending on the level of fanbase. More of us understand more than you think. And when it’s a huge studio like Fox,you should know that they should have gotten a trailer out a while ago. Shit. I remember I went and seen The Dark Knight on opening night and they showed a trailer for the new Terminator movie. That fuckin movie had just started filming at least 2 weeks before! And they already had a badass looking trailer out with actual footage from the film. Now for Fox to at least make a teaser trailer for Dragonball,just a short one,just a teaser,should have been done months ago. They finished the musical score for the trailer like when was it? 4 or 5 months ago? And the movie has been in post-production since when? Back in April? I,sir am a video editor. And I know that it takes at least 15 mins to put together a 1 min trailer and make it look good.

Teh, you can hardly call a 100 million dollar budget film “high budget” these days, especially when the companies themselves can easily fork that much out.
However, FOX rarely invests this much money in a film they don’t believe will make it back, so they’re either still working on it and may push the release date back yet again, or we may all be doomed and they cut tons of extra costs after the realization the film sucks and consider a straight-to-dvd.

Fox didnt promote anything for that film till about 2 weeks before its release so there wasnt much hype for it among those fans.
and they put it after the dark knight.

granted, I believe you; but that aside, you gotta consider how much footage is also being edited though; it’s partly dependent on that also
I’ve done a 15 seconds commercial (just for class) out of 1 hour+ worth of video footage before but it didn’t take me so fast; but yeah, I can believe you because, if you got the skills or the drive, it’s possible; but on a realistic level, a median of sorts…it’s hard to say..
regardless though…damn…let’s just hope the news change in the next few days and it’s still coming this December 12; I’ve been waiting for this movie for over 9 years now (I’ve heard rumours of the movie, at the time, before Fox even officially bought the rights a few years later…but anyways, the past’s the past…)

We better see something between the 12th and 20th. Anything besides the the Jump Festa or Japanese news. We NEED American promotion. It makes me thinking that Fox is really just messing around and not giving this much thought at all. So very disappointing that they give themselves this bad reputation.
I’m about 80% sure that they will release the trailer at the Jump Festa. Thats all good….but wheres our news? Ya’ know, the promised trailer and promotion that they continue to play a wild goose chase with? If they are serious about releasing this in April they better get off their asses and do a little work for a change, quick. This is like a bad joke. If they’re trying to get hype then its time to stop and show us something and let us sink our teeth into something that we can believe. This all feels so…cheap? Yeah, thats what it feels like. Cheap. Cheap and careless.
Fox has once again proved that they dont care how bad the decision they make they do not care about the core fans. Only about making a very slow buck. Am I wrong? Prove it.

you know i really want to see the trailer but it looks like fox is stalling why? you ask well lets see maybe the pre screening didn’t go so well so they’re going to delay people open your eyes this movie was rushed into production bad choice of casting(only some),terrible choice in writer,director and producer (stephen chow) so fans hope is gone

You are totally right. A small teaser trailer should have been in theaters this summer. Plenty of movies have like a symbol pop up on the screen and stating when the due date is. This is horrible decision making at its worst from FOX. I recently watched the Transformers trailer. You could compare it to the movie and see parts werent finished. There is no excuse to not have a trailer out by now. Someone around here must know someone who knows someone who knows someone that can maybe give some verbal abuse to the FOX higher ups.

Guys, we dont know the full story, we dont know reasons why yet. In fact, it aint 100% that the trailer date will change! Can’t believe how many of you are being so negative. think maybe your over-reacting a tad. We all have a right to an opinion but when we dont know the full picture, who are we to judge?
im gutted if this is true, i admit, but im not gonna bitch about FOX when they could have just said no to making this movie in the first place. Give them a chance will ya. their under enough pressure.

IF this movie was more was like 8-12 months out we would be more understandable. Its the fact that they keep pushing back a TRAILER that is both disheartening and frustrating. We have given FOX more than 1 chance to show us how “good” this movie will be. 3-4 months out with no teaser even is quite ridiculous. ANY big movie would have had something out by now. We are not being negative, we are being realistic. FOX is making a HUGE mistake by now promoting this earlier and in AMERICA where it was MADE! (well central america too)

I just think fox is at the point where they are scared to wide release things on this film due to the online hype people bashing it like crazy ect look what happened when the promo footage was leaked and pictures of piccolo and the oozaru, not to the mention the overall bashing of the idea they were even going to bring dragonball to live action. They know and no realize how big the fanbase is and imo they are trying to make the best film from what they have and in some cases I think they are wishing they did things different.

This is so stupid. I swear! First they said August 15th 2008 correct? For Dragonball? Then suddenly a year later, with the trailer out by October, then it’s moved to December. Now we’r there and it’s moved to January? Stupidity or what? They’ll have 3 months to show it off. With that lack of time it’ll bomb. Combine the lack of time spent showing it and how crappy of a movie it will be, it will do no where near good at the box office. I bet it’ll have a hard time topping 250 million domestically. -.-

hey i live in Japan and i just read this article from this website called cinema today, and it saids that the trailer WILL be played with the movie THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL which premiers on 12/12. In Japan, it’s scheduled to be played on 12/18 which is the day before premier of TDTESS. You guys think this is real news??
