I am sad they didn’t promote DB at Comic-con. Fox had it’s hands full with the Wolverine promo…I guess. nah, they could have done both, two somewhat different audiences. A cast panel and a few posters would have been great but hopefully something is coming….sometime.

not to seem optimistic but Im actually excited to see some kind of creativeness from the creators, to tell you the truth we all know the story, and I think some here can even say that they know every episode that ever came out for dragonball, DBZ, AND DBGT plus the movies, and have probably seen them a million times, you must have other wise you would not be complaining, but I think it will be interesting to keep the essence of dragonball, but man please something new, I mean I for one dont want to see the same thing Ive already seen before….

They are probably saving the advertising budget to blow it all right before the movie comes out…

@ti: I don’t think budget is the problem. Making a human twice a humans size(ox-king) is quite easy nowadays.
Not to mention they could just have made them human. A normalsize ox-king, a krillin with nose, human polunga etc.
I look forward to the movie too, and i think it’s going to be awesome, BUT It won’t be Dragonball. All the characters seem to be different, except for one or two traits(mutenroshi is a pervert, goku is naive, chichi is a girl who can fight) but nothing more. Chichi is totally Out of character, bulma looks way too old, muten roshi without his beard is not motenrushi and goku living in society? Whats up with that?
Like i said, it will be one awesome movie, but it won’t be Dragonball

agreed 100%….i love dragonball and yeah im dissapointed in the changes but they are keeping true to the spirit of dragonball and what its all about…we as fans know the true story of dragonball…if they have to change things up for this to be a success then its all good…i welcome the change this is gona be an awesome movie

Anyway, if anyone is wondering what it is going to look like Visually, check out ‘The One’, featuring Jet Li, the martial arts, stunts and visual effects are all phenomonel, and if anyone doesnt know already, it was directed by James Wong, just like Dragonball is. So im not like most people posting, Im looking forward to it, otherwise i wouldnt be checking every day for news. God knows why the slaters check it every day. They must be bored.

-Roshi’s bloody noses
-Pilaf
-Lot’s of Goku’s penis
-That fainting thing where everybody falls over with their legs up suddenly
-King Piccolo that is very much not a Namek (his back story almost totally changes in DBZ)
-Launch
-Well… you would get Emmy showing what she’s got to Roshi a few times… but most of us would like that….

This movie will not be “Hardcore” and dragonball at the same time. Dragonball was not Goku vs. Frieza every episode, in fact, DBZ wasn’t even that. Dragonball was *way* lighter.

First, thanks to Jamie for getting the info to the fans. And I hope anybody being disrespectful here is removed.
That said, it amazes me that no matter how positive things from the movie sound (whether it be from cast or crew), people still find things to be negative about. It amazes me.
There is never a good enough reason to be negative. Constructive Criticism, sure, but not negativity.
Akira Toriyama does not feel disrespected by this movie, I can assure. He’s way to busy working on current stuff to live in the past, like a lot of fans do.
Anonymous cited Transformers and Spiderman up there, as movies he does not want Dragonball to be like. Those are too movies I hope with all my being Dragonball is like. (While Spiderman 3 was less than stellar, it was still a moneymaker, and Transformers was a great flick, made lots of money, and was greenlighted for 2 sequels the day before it was released). We can only hope Dragonball has that kind of success.
And I’m sick of people bashing Fox. Are they the best decision makers in the world, at the administration level? No, definately not. But it’s no different with any other company. What matters is that the creative team is psyched about this film, and are striving to make it as good as it can be.

I highly doubt that James .W. will add everything from the Saiyan saga in the movie. Hes probably not gonna add Snake Way, Probably not King Kai, and most likely James .W. will give Frieza only 2 transformations.

That’s actually my point. He’s expressed that he’s done with the series, and has been for a while. He worked on the special, and was the man on the new rpg coming out, but those are new projects.
He’s not the kind of person to nitpick on an adaption of some of his old work. (He gave it to Fox, and to my understanding, only left/was let go of when the project was in dead water).
I’m pretty sure if the movie spawns sequels he’ll be consulted with more, but I don’t think he took any real offense to not be a major part of this one.

sorry to change the subject but if dragonball does well and they make dbz wont chatwin look to young to be adult goku with a 4year old son. so i think they should cast brendan fraser as adult goku. i think he is close to gokus personality and he resembeles goku aswell.
brendan fraser is the guy from the mummy movies. and dont say he cant do it because he cant act because chatwin is a worser actor form what ive seen(war of the worlds,the invisible and the chumscrubber).bredan already has gokus boyish freindly vibe. im not joking check him out in blast from the past.

anyways.. i think brendan fraser is a little too old… I think they would totally keep chatwin for the second movie. Goku still looked very very young and skinny, not so bulked up, in the saiyan sagas.. and who knows, maybe Chatwin will surprise with a goofy since of humor. Im not going to criticize Chatwin till i see him. Personally, i loved him in War of the Worlds, and he was on a favorite show of mine, LOST, and he was awesome in that show as well.
I have faith in him. And remember, Yun Fat is in this, he’s a great actor… who wouldnt have signed on to something cheesy. Member those things too.
Fraser is just too old.. i really cant see it. Great actor and all, just getting older.

Hello everyone. I’m just back in the States. “Moonshot” was an excellent film experience. The director told me he’d work with me again anytime. I think you all will really like it when it comes out. Looking forward to seeing those of you going to Dragon Con - not sure if I’ll be able to squeeze in any other cons this year. Everybody take care.

Marsters was at D-con last year aswell. Also, Micheal Rosenbaum is attending too… looks like they are promoting Smallville so don’t get your hopes up just yet.

Marsters is pretty cool. He’ll spill something. I just know we’ll get something from him. I don’t know if it’s going the be the trailer, and chances are it won’t be.

I think the trailer will come out in the next few weeks i mean dark knight comes out 2day in japan, n then there’s Babylon A.D. comes out the 29th, also there’s dragon con so there’s lots of opportunity’s 2 get 2 see the teaser trailer 4 dragonball, if not august maybe when max Payne comes out. we could only hope soon!!

I’ve contacted the Dragon Con few days ago, and they’ve answered me that they won’t promote Dragonball.

hmm.. interesting. What is Dragon-Con anyways? Ive never heard of it.
They just released the Harry Potter 6 trailer, and its 4 months till the movie comes out… So we might not get a trailer till January, which is four months from April. Maybe we’ll get one during a Christmas movie…
Inkheart comes out in January, and its a fantasy movie based from a book, so maybe we’ll get something then.

i think this movie is gonna suck. piccolo as the villian. please the namek is weak. they should have used the freiza. that would make for a better story line. if they make a sequel
they should use the cell saga. thats what i would love to see. i hope they dont try to make it to realistic like all other hollywood movie adaptations and goku better be confident about his skill level like the show. i dont like the actor there using for goku cause goku looks bigger than him. all and all i have low expectations for this movie

lol Freiza in DRAGONBALL… are you paying attention?? I think you will find he didn’t come along for a very long time… and I think Saucy is right we need to talk about new things not just “this movie will suck” lol you haven’t even seen it yet… and it doesn’t make you cool coming onto a forum telling everyone who likes the show that the movie will suck.
On a lighter note… Jamie Chung looked fantastic in here little interview… although I didn’t smirk because I was too busy staring at her… wow! lol

couldnt help it… so far im jumping from thinking its gonna be good or bad cos the actors are giving pretty good comments on the effects but a few spoilers and stuff are good but not as much as I expected from waiting a while, Dont get me wrong, I really like them I’m just gonna have to wait for the teaser to ease up -_-
