What happens when The Original Bamfer, Trunks, and I (The DBMB Boards very own moderators) get together for a podcast? You get the very first DBMB MODcast! Hot of the heels of yesterdays ‘leaked first draft’, the three of us discuss the supposed script in some detail. What we liked, what we hate, and how this reflects on what we may see come April.

this script was the best base for this movie it was not cleche at all it was funny. (was the first time i actually laughed reading.)
Now its just a matter of putting it all together and making it badass with effects. i personally though it should have ended with the sayians landed (
and nappa) iluding to a second movie. and not have piccolo talk about his Sayian herritge rather explain it in the next movie (hopefully)

You guys should have talked about the superman type outfit for goku. that was my favorite part.

I liked roshi’s part alot of other things (and i know its just a draft) But it lost me when goku was wearing his gi at school and the piccilo-namek story being common knowledge at Goku’s school. Atleast weaver might get killed off like those two horribly written characters…Goku Lets Play DRAGONBALL!!! ILL BE PICCOLLO YOU CAN BE…..GOKU!!! Just doesn’t do it for me. I hope the high school thing is different or else it kinda makes this corny..alah Magic begins.

You covered everything and I am glad you think the same way I do.
I would like to hear some stuff on the Nimbus cloud finally being revealed at the end of the script to save their lives. I really liked when Roshi said “(to Goku)

The Oolong part was kinda crappy. What upset me the most is how Goku plays a video game and all that stuff….
I mean…That’s kinda flippin’ lame… That the game comes out to be true.

i really liked the script and i think it was well written for a first draft. hope that some of the dialog between characters doesnt change as well as some of the roshi scenes. he was so funny! but i didnt really care for pilaf. maybe he could be cut out and replaced with piccolo or his role could be shortened?

After looking over the script one last time it said that it was written by Ben Ramsey and under Magnet Management. they give a number. why don’t you just call and figure out if it is really real.

Amazing modcast guys. There were parts of the script that I liked and a whole lot I didn’t but you guys did bring up a lot of valid points and I do feel a lot more at ease. I still hope that Wong and Chow make a lot of changes though.

Dude, Now that was totally an awesome script. And toped off with an excellent podcast.
But if it were all up to me, if they wanted to portray krillin as goku’s best friend then i think that krillin should have had a better role than a thumbs up and a smile. but overall it was pretty good.

I loved the script! Some things def. need to change, but overall I’m completely happy with it.
I only have one question though.
What about Bulma’s dad? How can he be dead if he’s in the show way later?
I can understand why they used that in the script though, because it gave Bulma reason to find the dragonballs and all…so I’m not complaining to much. I’m just curious on your guys opinion on it.

you guys kept using the word “Decent” like if it was the best thing ever…like if you guys gave up hope and just expect something that is not bad…

I already had a feeling that this movie was going to be better than most people think but after reading the script I felt assured of my prediction. Duh there are things wrong with the script that I don’t like other fans don’t like either, but it’s still a first draft whether it be fake or not and if I know anything about screenwriting then I know that first drafts get drastically changed after all is said and done.
Bulma’s father, Dr. Briefs, was never a ‘major’ character so his fate, so to speak, is really not that important as long as it’s not TOO farfetch’d.

The script is fake.
There is no way that is real, as Master Mutatio (Ernie Hudson) doesn’t show up.
Honestly this whole pdf sounds like a mediocre fan fiction, not a hollywood movie made by FOX.
I KNOW, your probably thinking that it would be mediocre because it is fox. but honestly, it wouldn’t be THIS bad.

Jake The where they got the answere seems to be a confuse person whole seem really unconnected to the Rpoduction beside the fact the she work for Fox MEXICO so i doubt there is any reason say its fact all the said was…It not going to apear in the movie. WHICH means it could still vary well be one of the first drafts

it was confirmed fake… not first draft or final draft .. it was “Fake”. Although i had fun reading it, i am happy that im still not sure whats going to happen on the big screen… Props to whom ever made this one, it was well done.

After getting through the school parts, it was a pretty nice script… I do like the ‘title’ sequence tho.
I never did like Oolong anyway…just a coward that was never any point to… but I thought that the part in the script would have been pretty cool to see, even if it wasn’t the best part of the movie.
I was looking around for the “James Wong” script and found a page of it and made me think… I won’t tell what it said, but it would explain the pic of Roshi we have.

well i agree the script is pretty good i have some things i would like to argue the beginning of goku in school simply i thought it was to lame goku never showed any interest and shy ness towards a girl he just married chi chi because of his promise to her, also the video game i think it wasnt necesssary, the idea of high school makes sense that granpa gohan would like him to get an education but not the video game and the fact that he liked some girl looks to smallville to me oolong should not be such a big deal i think is not important also i think piccolo should not come at the last 30 min of the film i would say he should be summoned sometime in the middle the charcters seem to act like the cartoon the capsule was an awesome idea and i like the fact that is a future time from our currernt century is good draft many real components to the series i just hope piccolo is involved more and pilaf just gets destroy by piccolo as soon as he releases him

first off there are several reasons why this is fake.
1. the martial arts tournament isn’t even incorporated in this movie.
2. Oolong is not a giant pig demon who Goku kills
3. Master Mutatio isn’t in this movie
4. Piccolo is supposed to have some sort of climbing scene with Mai
5. Goku is supposed to have three bullies in this movie, not just one.
6. Pilaf and Mai are not namekians and Shou is not a tall muscle bound ninja.
7. Bulmas dad never died.
8. and what about the fight between Mai and Chi Chi.
The first time i read this script i thaught it was decent. but i could not help noticing several flaws, and things that are not right. Even if this is a first draft, if the movie urns out anything like this script(besides a few cool elements that actually make sense) it will have one less person to watch it.

Well although it does have a lot of flaws, its hollywood, they make alot of changes to anything really. and aoubt the one person less watching it… I highly doubt you wont go to c it, lets b honest, just about 98% of the people here will watch the movie first thing it comes out.. so how will you u know the plot if u watched it first??? well unless ur that 2% lol.

Ok as a Film Student
i can recognize that the script is fake because every thing Bulma pulls something out of a capsule its “the coolest ______ You have ever seen” or “a bad ass ______” a professional script stage directions aren’t worded like that its more like “Bulma uses a capsule the changes to an amazing ______” rather than slang or what ever u call bad ass lol
and i do think some fan boy could have wrote this but who he/she was probally just wrote it for fun without the intention of putting it online until they finished it and wanted to see what people thought
but besides that it is a good script excluding the Oolong and Bulma’s father being dead

Yeah but when you’re a Film Student, you have to do things proper. When you’re just doing it so it can be the first draft for some others to read and redo, its pretty much alright, because he knows that its not gonna be the actual script.

The script was definatly fake and if not ben ramsey must have been on dogfood when he wrote this. The movie made retarted changes to dragonball (Goku going to school and seeing people other than himself and Gohan) but this is just pure Sh**. Why is the Dragonball legend known by everybody and a franchise and where is Weaver (another 20th cen. fox stupid change) Goku is supposed to like Chi chi.
