Speed Racer? that movie is probably the greatest live action anime to date. Dragon Ball on the other hand looks insanely horrible….I mean yes, the cast looks horrible as the characters that they are playing(besides Emmy as Bulma, and once again she needs blue hair) ad we have yet to see Marsters as Piccolo…But as it stands, the set shots, the characters themselves, this crap chi vs mai footage….it’s looking like a dissaster

*Sigh*…that’s the good and bad of videos like this popping up. It gives people who’ve been waiting to see some action something to look at, but at the same time, it gives people that were already bashing the movie more ammunition. Mainly because they’ll ignore the fact that this is footage from an unauthorized cell phone camera, and completely over look the fact that when this fight appears on screen it will look NOTHING like this.

well allthoguht the arena looks stupid doesnt meen itl look like that in real life. if you notice in big movies like 300 and starwars, or for example lotr rotk, the ministirith city was prolly as big as a highschool size wize, and then it was like its own country in the movie, so to get down to it, what im saying is that for the movie itl prolly be bigger with comp editing, as well as the speed of the fighting, but dragonball fighting speed wasnt rlly to fast pace, unless it concerned goku and piccolo.

I gotta say DTX, you are one of the most blatantly horrid people i’ve ever seen on the net, and i’ve seen/met quite a few. Like dragonsoul, I can’t believe your downright disgusting comments about Chatwin, that by playing a gay character he was “selling his pride for money”. Have you ever heard of actors wanting a challenge? Actors playing roles they aren’t too familiar with to improve their retinue? I don’t know what planet your from, but playing a gay character takes a lot of character (take Heath Ledger as an example as well as Russel Crowe), and really says something about his committment to acting. Goku wasn’t super buff in DB and neither is Chatwin. He should fill the role and do what’s required. Who knows, he could even be the perfect casting

first off, Wat the F*ck did U just say??? second this movie will suck. James Wong took the boy that couldn’t tell the diffrence between men and women, who was amazed by a light bulb when the sun was down, who thought marriage was a food and turning him into a Highschool student. Goku never went to school, He lived in the mountains with Granpa Gohan, very far away from anybody else (why he doesn’t know about electricity, and doesn’t know what things, like marriage, are.) he isn’t married to chi chi because they fell in love, Chi chi asked him to marry her and he agreed because he thought it was food. (Goku didnt even like girls then) and he isn’t all goth like in the movie and wud never wear those clothes. Where are Yamcha’s Scars, the flying cars, the white futuristic buildings, Oolong and Puar, KRILLIN. not to mention the inaccurate looks of the actors. People say it’s all to attract non-fans to the series, but if the non-fans like this then they won’t be fans of the Dragonball mega series, they will be fans of the retarted remake. They say it’s an “adaptation” and the actors won’t look like the characters exactly, but they can at least try. in an adaptation you should be able to identify the Characters by trademarks, hair or outfits and So far Iv’e only seen one, Goku’s gi(but most of the time, it is replaced by the new black outfit.) Also Grandpa Gohan didnt die by King Piccolo, he was stepped on by Great ape Goku. and Piccolo is the evil half of Kami, not the ruler of an ancient race. If The directors didnt know the storyline, the could have searched it up and even made an “ask the fans activity on the internet to make more money. What a way to destroy dragonball. this is worse than the live action Street Fighter.

Ultimately, FOX have had to make the adaptation in order for the movie to be succesful. If the movie is succesful, which i personally think it will be, the franchise will be able to experiment with a little more faithful material and make the 2nd and hopefully 3rd movies. What you have to understand Demetri is that this movie is a huge, huge gamble, and making it ridiculous with talking animals, CGI hair that looks totally random and admittedly abstract japanese looking characters would not help it get the profit it deserves. Wait till a teaser/trailer comes out, then make a judgement, what you just spewed out then does nothing but make you look like a total idiot

I agree Demetri, look at 300 and how faithful that movie was to the very abstract-looking graphic novel and story. You mean to tell me it won’t work with Dragon Ball with the huge fan base it has built up over the last 20 years (a much bigger fan base than that of 300 before the movie was made)?
I don’t know who the moron is who decided to make the movie the way it is (James Wong,some Fox CEO?), but whoever it is, they need to be fired or have nothing more to do with Dragon Ball.

If I were in charge, it wud be a DBZ about the Saiyan saga and the story would be the sam and everybody would look excactly like the anime.
