Loading ...Namekian Image UPDATED-FAKE
I made a post about this earlier today but quickly deleted it after coming to the conclusion that it was probably a fake. But here’s the rundown:
This morning Dragonball-Live posted an image of a 3D model of a “Namekian” that may possibly be Lord Piccolo in the movie. The site made it clear that the image might be fake, but said they believed their source.
Here is the image:
I personally have never seen this image before, but multiple people told me they’ve seen that image many times in the past and that it was without a doubt fake.
Now it seems we have new developments from Dragonball Scooper extraordinaire, Craigdbfan. Here is what Craig has to say:
It seems like that supposed “Namekian Rendering” might hold some Truth
It all started out with a user named krnz on the IMDB Dragonball forums, where he posted a picture of a supposed “Namekian” for the Dragonball film he informed that he received this concept art from Ivy Agregan ( visual effects coordinator).
Now Ivy Agregan has supposedly e-mailed him this:

I have no recallation of sending you this image, although im not saying it’s a fake.
This model was created by Alexandre Tuis in early 2006. Status is currently in Post-Production. Fox and the Dragonball Film Crew are very alert to all articles regarding DB, and won’t hesitate in deleting false/misleading information.
I hope this helps you understand, and wish you all the luck for the future.

Who knows at this stage though. This is most likely a fake. Maybe just a pre production design that was put together???

Well if it is indeed from 2006 then Piccolo was intended to be old. When James Marsters was onboard Lord Piccolo was old, then Fox changed there minds and he started looking young. But James himself made the make up artists make him look old again.

Um no… he’s Lord Piccolo… that means he’s supposed to be old and decrepit. When they get the Piccolo Jr. then he’ll be younger. But for now he’s actually SUPPOSED to be old and ugly. James Marsters even made SURE that they didn’t make Piccolo too young; since he shouldn’t be as “pretty” as the producers wanted him to be.

I Like the Antennas by his mouth, But they could’ve made his nose look more Alien..Well even if its not the Real Piccolo, we all get a better image on what he may really look like..

I saw this picture a year ago!! It looks real, but why did they have to make the antennas in the mouth. That is so annoying. Other then that it’s good, but it doesn’t get me excited.

I dont like this. The whiskers make a catfish look. James looks like him enough, he dont need this weird mold. The antennas need to be on the top. And if u ask me, it looks ‘too’ alien. Like a green colored generic alien pic u find in tabloids. Piccolo looked a bit more human, feature wise. Give him eyebrows and cut off antennas he looks like a regular human, despite the green, lol. Oh, his ears too, but in any case he doesnt nearly look as alien as this. I hope really its a fake, or just one of many model’s rejected.

I think what makes it look so alien is the fact that it isn’t normal human proportions. If that was make up applied to James Marsters face it would look much different.

No offense to anybody but I…don’t like either so far. Eh! Sorry. I agree with an earlier comment that this possibly “official” Piccolo rendering looks all too much like something out of the X Files, not Dragonball. Piccolo pretty much looks human, but with pointy ears, pointy fangs, green skin, and antennae. And even the older Piccolo Senior was no where near this freakin’ ugly.
As for the other one…you only see half the face, for one. And what you do see is covered with patterns…? Face paint? It’s clear someone worked very hard on it though, and it does look better than the other one….which honestly…just sucks. Eh, just my opinion, of course.

Anyone who knows Photoshop could clearly tell you this is a fake. It’s so horribly done. I’d believe that “Nympho Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell” won an Oscar before believing this was real.

IMO… its not that bad looking, although, it just doesnt fit the “green humanoid namekian” look to be a true namekian figure. The head is too big and that nose just wouldnt fit right on any ones face… (unless Krillin is real? :P)

Good thing it’s a fake… I would have hated it if piccolo really looked that way (nicely done but does not look like him at all) By the way i know it sucks that they’re only planning to make 3 movies… i would have liked it if they had finished the serie with the cell saga… Tough Frieza’s my favorite character i think the cell games could have ended it really nicely instead of finishing with the frieza saga ( that is if they make other movies based on the real story from the mangas)

I can assure you that is NOT what Piccolo looks like. This may be a CG render of a random Namekian, but it looks very far from the final version of Piccolo’s head/face.
