Yeah, I’m pretty sure if they’re signing on for a trilogy everyone else would stay quiet (because that’s probably what Fox wants) but Marsters is kick ass and shows his excitement about these things. He’s really given me faith about this movie!

Sweetness! If these movies do great, I hope they don’t stop at Frieza….they should at least go on to Cell. Like Toriyama-sama did. And then when the fans demand it enough, make a 2-3part long Buu saga (because I doubt all that happens after Cell can be condensed into a single movie)

You realize he also went to Buu? XD Only GT was made up by Toei.
Anyway, I hope they stop at Freeza. Anything after that’s a bit repetitive, IMO (not to mention that all three films would have to do ENORMOUSLY well to get not only three, but four or five movies). Toriyama had intended to end with Freeza originally, anyway, with Goku dying to save everyone (like he later made him do in the Cell saga), etc.

Why would anybody want them to do the Buu saga?. That saga belongs with GT in my opinion. Its long, stupid and very childish….cmon turning people into candy? Thats a human hting how would Buu know about candy? Only 2 good things come from Buu saga. Fusion and SSJ3!

I heard Toriyama intended it to end with Cell, not Frieza.
What I was meaning by my last post is exactly what I heard. Toriyama intended to end it with Cell’s defeat, etc. But there was so much popular demand for him to continue, thus he made Buu and ended it there.

that would be cool if they went on to freiza. He was the hardset foe for the Z fighters. imagine if the Ginyu force was in it………..that would kick ass. and imagine if nameks were in it too….and the namekian dragon! wow, there are so many things to look forward too!

Theres more than just the Freeza, Android, and Buu saga…we also have the Saiyan Saga, Garlic Jr saga. And are well all forgetting about the manga and how the series was based on that?
Heres my prediction..The first movie is Dragonball and ends with the defeat of Raditz. The second starts with the Saiyan saga and ends with the defeat of Freeza. The third is the entire Android Saga.

It’s pretty much standard procedure in Hollywood to sign actors for two or three sequels when working on a film that has the potential to spawn a franchise.
If this film does well enough to justify two sequels, I’m sure Fox won’t stop at a third film. Franchises like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings have proven that long-running franchises are a viable moneymaking option.
If Dragonball can pull off Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings success, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the franchise run for five or six films.

I’m not really too bothered by the idea of things happening out of order — I’m probably one of the few fans who didn’t have an aneurysm when Gwen Stacy was purged from the first Spider-Man film — but I would like for them to try to keep the appearance of each set of villains in order.

That’s partially true. Toriyama originally intended to end it with Freeza, but was convinced to continue on by the enthusiastic fan response/pressure from his publishes/extra money, etc. Then he intended to end it with Cell. Again, fan response, etc. urged him to go on with one more saga, and then end it with Buu . . . which he stuck firmly to. XD

Its impossible to get a better actor to make piccolo , u can see is talent in buff the vampire slayer , Angel and Smallville , he always did evil charaters and its impossible to not love is work.
In my opinion Justin Chatwin as to give all he can give as Songoku or else Masters going to steal the ´´hero factor´´ that songoku as on dragonball from chatwin , i think the casting was not that good to recruit chatwin as songoku because in my opinion theres better actors in the film like Masters , chow and emmy it was better to spend more money for the contract in a better actor to make songoku like Tom Welling , James Marsdean but ok lets expect that chatwin makes the work of is life.

dude they seem to be doing this with dragonball.the other thing is i dont think many people would like to see a buu saga movie that is 2-3 parts long if any

sorry i meant the fimmakers are condensing a whole series (9 sagas) into one movie. also im not a huge fan of dragonball/z/gt i just watched dragonball z everymorning for a year when i was 11.

Frieza would be pretty awesome if they got a good costume, as CGI wouldnt really work for all the fight scenes…

Yea, I’m pretty sure they wont do buu or cell as the third movie. Cell saga is too long for one movie with all the android and trunks stuff (granted it could be done still) but that would also mean that the saiyan and frieza saga would all be in a single move which would be a really bad idea. If its three, I’m guessing piccolo, then saiyan, then frieza ending with super saiyan Goku

they’ll do whatever sagas focus most on the dragon balls. the main problem with the continuation of the series was that they lost focus on what the manga was about in the first place, a quest to find magical balls to make wishes. Once finding dragonballs was as easy as picking up the groceries, what was the point? I hope the movie too keeps the focus where it belongs and less on other stuff.

I just saw IRON MAN and i liked it. Its amazing what they can do with movies these days. So with that said dragonballs special affects should be really good if they are spending a lot of time on it. Everybody go check Iron man out Robert Downey Jr. did a great job and looks like Tony Stark from the cartoon and comics.

omg. Alot of ppl dont really know DB here. Akira Tor. wanted to END Dragonball with Frieza, NOOOOTTTT CELLL!!!! Fans demanded more so he created the retarded Garlic Jr filler then came up wit some story relatin to the red ribbon army. Cell saga BLEW!! It completely lost the focus of the dragonballs. Buu was considered by most fans the saga to save Dragonball. Majin vegeta was awesome. Vegeta had returned to his bad ass old self, and he sacrificed himself, for the first time in the history actually being a “good guy”. Gohan goes mystic, SSJ3 appears, we have fusion. Vegeto kicks ass. Only thing kiddish bout buu was fat buu, and he wasn’t center focus for too long. In Cell saga Vegeta had his high points howevers, and Gohan went SSJ2. Piccolo becomes whole again. So it had its points too. However NONE of these sagas comes close to Frieza. Frieza is a shadow from the beginnin of Z on. Durin the sayian saga we find out Goku and piccolo are aliens. We go to Piccolos home planet. He becomes strong wit Nail and fights Frieza. We get Vegeta, an awesome new character. We discover Frieza Killed Goku’s and Vegeta’s fathers and destroyed his home planet. Frieza is a Universal Tyrant, by being a king he has certain type of power and impression superior to cell and Buu. Frieza was the most evil character ever created imo. He’s Brutally hilarious and just pure evil. He doesnt jus kill u, he tortures u and enjoys it. Because he has followers he is able to display evil beyond what cell and buu could by Killin his followers for serving his coffee too hot (and other things as meaningless as that). So lets recap, we have a character whos been a shadow from the start, hes destroyed our main characters(goku/vegeta/piccolo) race and planet, he is the epitimy of Evil, he is the source of Vegetas evil and he kills vegeta(one of the best dbz moments imo). Goku’s brother, discovering the truth behind him, all his training and life seems to lead up to this moment and this fight. As a baby sent to concur earth for Frieza(sayians were employed by frieza). He went against that order and fights the intetgalatic evil, his most tryin fight ever. Krillin is killed, he becomes ssj, sumthin unknown or seen in the manga/show before. Every1’s like wtf?! Everything was sooo much more passionate and deeper back then. If you can see these major facts and emotions you can easily tell THIS is where the show was suppose to end. Akira wanted to end the show with you having NO idea wut happened to Goku. Which is how Frieza ended. Fans demanded more so he gave us cell, again he tried to end it with u not knowing wats goin on wit Goku. Fans demanded more, he gave us buu. He gave us one more ending with Goku leaving wit Uub. Toei created GT. So plz get your facts right about where Akira wanted to end the show, it WAS with Frieza and NOT Cell! Also the Show up until Frieeza was its Glory points, so ending it there would be a good move. The movies will most definately go Piccolo, Sayian, Frieza. Even tho I would LOVE to see Final Flash on the big screen, unless these flixs sell big, i dont see it happening.

the possibility of a triology is awesome news
anyway.. some of you say things like “they cant condense a whole sage into 1 movie” or similar stuff… they can. take the cell/android saga: 5 minutes clips of “theres future trunks, he tells present goku and friends about the evil future. then they meet the androids (19 and 20. then 16, 17 and 18) and fight them. they cant really beat them, so they train.
10 minutes clips with goku and the other beating 16, 17 and 18. Piccolo meeting Cell. Cell consuming 17 and 18.
