Bart Mixon - UPDATE
According to IMDB, Bart Mixon is one of the special makeup effects artists working on Dragonball. Mixon has worked on such films as The Terminator, T2, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and Hellboy.
Check out his work here.
It seems Mr. Mixon left us a little comment below:
Just wanted to clear a few things up about my involvement with DRAGONBALL. I was brought in near the end of the shoot to apply ADI’s prosthetic make-up for Lord Piccolo. Steve Koch sculpted the appliances for ADI, and Ed French was the on set make-up artist who worked out the final color details for the Piccolo make-up application. The show went over by about a week, and Ed had another obligation, so ADI asked me to fill in for Ed for that last week. If I recall, there were about 8 appliances, plus teeth, and it took about 4.5 hours to apply and color. I hope you guys like it when Fox finally released photos of it.
Thanks for filling us in Bart!

Yeeea Update,
I always thought the thing looked cool in Fantastic 4.
He seems to have done some great work in the past. No doubt that work will continue for Dragonball.

No, I post things from IMDB if its something worthwhile. In this case, Bart Mixon is a rather prestigious man to be working on this film. He’s been around a long time. And he has a website wich is worth posting so fans can see his work and get a feel of what may be in store. . .
Or, you know I can just post nonsensical rumors that don’t benefit anyone like other sites.
March 18th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
oh just hush Adam, the info is very relevant, he’s a good artist so with him working on the film gives me more excitement.
March 18th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
There’s a lot of people on IMDB with work worthwhile to post that you haven’t, who are working on this movie.
Just seems kind of random to me, that’s all.

Jp you do an awesome job of maintaining, factual, worth while information on this blog/site.
If idiots like Adam want information presented in an otherwise fashion, then they can start their own DBZ blog.
In actuality it’s very rude for Adam to go around dictating terms of usage for your own/personal blog/site - hence the term idiot.

Thanks for the kind words, but lets try to refrain from name calling, please!.

Thanks for the one name. . .
I can’t find anywhere online where I can see Steve’s work. But he works for Amalgamated Dynamics Inc., the special effects company working o Dragonball that this site first broke.

Bart Mixon: the man that brought the great demon king piccolo to life.
March 18th, 2008 at 8:18 pm
Agreed. After looking at his work, I suspected that he might’ve done the makeup for Lord Piccolo in the Dragon Ball movie.
And talk abuot a pro! I had no idea he was behind the makeup of Pennywise from Stephan King’s It. Piccolo’s texture must look awesome.
March 18th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Man I can’t wait for this movie to come out! All the haters are gonna have to eat some hot soup!
March 18th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
well it’s news. And welcome news. His work seems to be perfectly suited for piccolo and hopefully some giant ape action.

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
Calm down!! JP and Adam
We are all family
I got to admit it’s kind of funny seeing Adam and JP argue lol. I bet you guys try to see who get the news first!!
Anyways this is great news. Bart Marton did an excellent job in T2 and The Grinch….
March 19th, 2008 at 12:28 am
LOL, Adam and I argue in jest.
:p
March 19th, 2008 at 2:29 am
I have a question, does this news mean that they just now hired him to do the make-up? Because filming is allmost over, and my guess is that the make-up should be on during filming…
or is it that they were working with him all along and just now “leaked” it to the media?
March 19th, 2008 at 3:05 am
Huh!? Bart Mixon’s one-eyed monster looks like one of those kooky baddies out of Power Rangers, or some thing. I am not necassarily saying that this is a bad thing, but I am just saying that this was first reaction.
March 19th, 2008 at 6:40 am
JP and I are friends (I think) but I like to give him a hard time…
Though I’ll admit I might have been rude… but I was drunk (like always).
It’s all good.
March 19th, 2008 at 8:21 am
Is Adam Jappo? and JP why didn’t you accept my friend request on Myspace?
March 19th, 2008 at 8:22 am
At least it’s not the guy who did the monster design for Spider-Man 3, whoever that was really screwed Venom up bad.
March 19th, 2008 at 10:49 am
Alex Tuis and the folks at Amalgamated Dynamics Inc. worked on Piccolo.
Bart, I don’t think, has much to do with that. He’s working on make-up. So I’d assume he’s be working more on things like cuts and wounds. Maybe certain textures that are a bit more specific than what ADI are doing.
March 19th, 2008 at 11:47 am
Kaypain you know me, from LAA aren’t you?
March 19th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Sorry about the name calling. Sometimes my maturity lapses - never the less thanks for all the great info Jp.
March 19th, 2008 at 4:10 pm

March 19th, 2008 at 4:11 pm

Hey Bart, thanks for filling us in. I take it you have no idea when fox plans on releasing any photo’s?
We’re all excited to see what Piccolo looks like.
May 9th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
Incredible… i don’t even feel worthy enough to comment on the same page as this man. I’ll just say I’m loving this little rebellion going on by the cast and crew, how they’re kinda doing fox’s job for them by hyping up the movie. Coolest movie crew ever.
