Teaser Rumor

IMDB user Sour Mikan, known for providing most of the Japanese translations for us, says there are rumors of a trailer in Japan.

I heard from some people that the teaser trailer has already shown at a theater, One of them said it can be seen at the movie Lions for Lambs (Japanese title: Ooinaru Inbou) and unfortunately no characters in it, but only seven dragonballs appear against the space background and DRAGONBALL logo and March 2009 word appear. I expect FOX will publish it on the web soon.

These rumors are being spread over many other Japanese blogs claiming to have seen the same thing.

    lol. Small typo in his quote…could be any number of reasons, but it’s assumed he means 2009, not 2008.

    Hmmm.. Im hopin somethin will come out of this. Even if it is just a teaser showin the dragonballs and the logo, it would be good enough.
    Just picture someone walkin into a theater to watch some movie, and then all of a sudden they show a dragonball movie teaser! The word would spread around like hot cakes lol Especially for the fans that dun even know they are makin a movie.

    :D Sweet. That’d be a smart move to start generating hype during this summer season. And i’m hoping too that it’s just a small teaser, but a taste, something like a Goku’s hand picking up the four star ball, then fade to black… oooohhh yeah.

    I’m still excited for this movie and all… but the teasers thus far (the poster and this description of the trailer) kind of suck.

    there can very well be a trailer shown really soon. the freakin star trek trailer was shown in jan and that movie dont come out til dec. i cant wait for this trailer :mrgreen:

    Since the movie is a year before release, I think that just showing the dragon balls moving around and forming a logo or something is a good teaser.

    X-Men 2 had a similar teaser with just the logo being transformed and modified. That teaser can be viewed here — http://www.internapse.com/marvel/modern/xmen2/media.php — under trailers.

    This teaser didn’t really last long and was just something for the fans to stare at. A real trailer came out soon after.

    Its just a teaser people… they are not going to hand out the whole plot in a teaser, its just to bring in anticipitation to the mass.

    Victor and Scott are right, teasers arent meant to show much, its just to hype us up and let everyone know that the movie they are workin is on the way. So dun go beserk if the teaser isnt exactly wat u thought it would be… I mean come on, we still have a whole year ppl.

    I’ve looked on the fox movies website, and in the coming soon Section, a load of movies are there, including Dragonball o.O so far, nothings been shown up on it yet.

    I find it odd that Fox would place a trailer (even though it’s only a teaser) in a political movie such as Lions for Lambs. Ummm . . . what target audience are they trying to inform here again? XD

    I think the English version of that trailer will be shown with Iron man.
    I feel like I am almost certain. Its a big movie that is based off a television series and Comic and so is Dragonball.
    The fan base of the movies are similar also. :wink:

    this is the kind of teaser trailer you want. As interested as I am in the plot of the movie, I would like to walk into the theatre, and experience the movie first hand.

    The reason I didn’t like Spiderman 3 as much as I should have was that I saw the whole thing in the trailer. There was no surprise left.

    A teaser trailer is supposed get people excited for the movie, that’s it.

    wouldn’t a teaser trailer of DragonBall have to be with a movie of 20th century fox? or can a teaser trailer come out with any movie regardless of the company making it? PLEASE ANSWER!!

    if the rumor is wide-spread, it’s may be real.

    in order for a movie to premier the trailer (at least in the states), it has to be on a fox movie (not iron man.)

    Nah, giving to much info away like that would kind of spoil the teaser for Fox. They want to get fans curious and excited, but little by little. After all this is a TEASER trailer. It’s only a tease of whats to come. :D

    not necessarily sometimes other companies promote another company’s movie, sometims, I’ve seen a Lionsgate film promote Harry Potter in the previews

    I think they might show a teaser in Iron Man but it’s too soon. But I believe they will show the full length trailer in the Dark Knight. Mid Summer and same target audience members. And for all of you guys complaining no characters for the teaser… uhh the Dark Knight, which is the most anticipated movie of this year, had a batman logo throughout the whole first teaser and just a convo in the background. It’s meant to TEASE you.

    I just don’t think it’s true the teaser will come out in Japan first, since it’s basically impossible to drive up any hype over there now

    oh man - if the trailer came out with the dark knight that would be amazing! because the dark knight is going to be a blockbuster no questions asked. which means, a lot of people would see the dragonball trailer. it’s perfect! one can only wish though…

    That’s exactly what i thought the teaser would be, they show the dragonballs then the logo. I also think that it will be shown with Iron Man. They both are the same genre. And hey don’t have to be from the same company, I remember seeing the Spiderman Trailer when I saw Lord Of The Rings and their by different studios.

    i just hope that the movie would be very much like the animated series.i mean, the actors and actresses would exactly resemble the characters. :D
