Wire Work
Eriko Tamura has updated her blog once again, and thanks to our friend Jessica we have a great translation!
Firstly here is a blog from a few weeks ago:
Great Energy!
It was a fun shoot today! We filmed a lot of fighting sequence on the ring from an early morning. The venue was filled with Spanish people who work as extras. Spanish people are great! They are Latin, I re-realized it. Everybody was fun and vibrant, and that their great energy gave us the excitement in the scene even more! Thank you guys!
And here is her latest:
Wire and Harness
I did the wire-work for the first time this morning. It turned out that I wasn’t so good. It was actually harder than how it looked…!
I have been looking forward to doing the wire-flying action since before the holidays. Contrary to my excitement the wire took me to a wrong direction and I hit the light…how embarrassing! I would like to be able to do it better next time. I should ask if I could practice. I want to play Mai really tough and strong.
Small Update:
Better translation of Eriko’s Feb. 10th blog:
Today was also a good day for me and fun! The location we filmed was about an hour and a half away from our hotel, and the scenery was breathtaking! I’ve never seen such a spectacular scenery. I hope you can all enjoy the beautiful scenes in the movie as well. I’ve been to many places before but nothing compares to the scenery I saw today. All the hard work is worth it. It really shows how mother nature creates such spectacular landscapes over a period of time…it was absolutely magnificent and I was so much in awe, that I almost was in tears!
I was picked up at my hotel by a driver at 4:30AM and it felt at first a little anxious as I was all alone with him who I couldn’t communicate with (He peaks Spanish and does not speak English), and we were driving through the mountains in absolute darkness. As soon as we arrived at base-camp, Philippe did my make-up for me and I changed into my costume, then walked out onto the set. It was then that I realized that the sun had come up, and I was surrounded by a magnificent panorama view. I have no idea where the location was - I must ask the crew tomorrow. I wonder if it is a famous place open to tourists, or we just had the privilege to film there as a movie crew.
It was sunny and bright in the morning, but the weather in the mountains is unpredictable. It started to get windy and it started to rain all of a sudden while we were filming.
The rain eventually stopped so James and I went on top of a big rock again and continued the scene.
Working with James Marsters has been a wonderful experience to me.. he is such a nice guy yet he can play a great villain. I’d like to learn from him playing a good villain.
Later in the day it started to rain again that we had to stop filming. On my way back, I stopped by at China Mandarin again. The people at the restaurant said, “See you tomorrow!” (they know that we are filming Dragonball here in Durango) and I felt a little embarrassed.Randal and Annie were at the hotel when I got back, and we all talked for a while in their room… I am back in my room now. Annie was kind enough to rehearse with me on the scenes I have tomorrow! She is an acting coach in the East Coast. It is sad that Randal and Annie are leaving next week… I didn’t get to work with Randy in too many scenes, but I would hang out in his trailer with Annie a lot. I feel honored to be able to work with him as well as having the privilege to get to know him in person. I will do my best tomorrow!
Thanks again to Jessica for the great translations!
