Durango Ready For Dragonball

Another interesting article with quotes from the production staff here.

With regard to the characteristics of the locations, Gutierrez Barraza emphasized that these are strange landscapes, “but not rare.” “They are landscapes that are not easy, but in Durango we have several of these, such as Laguna Seca in Santiaguillo, which is a space as if the world were starting or had already been finished,” explained the director of the state agency.

Also abounded that the locations are not common environments, since the nature of the film places unusual demands and Durango at its wealth Geographic enjoys an extended range.

“Producers arrive until next week in the area of post-production,” said the interviewer, while he said that although the dates for casting and “finished”, they will continue on a permanent basis.

There were approximately 700 thousand people who auditioned, but will be about a thousand that will participate in this production.

“There are scenes in which involved up to 500 extras at once,” said Sergio Gutierrez.

Hopefully one of our readers can better translate.

The only thing that i can think of involving 500 extras is maybe like a mass exacution?

I think in the show Heroes they used 300 hundred extras for the a massacare at a wedding…

I hope they do something similar to that of Buu’s epic ending, where everybody in the planet joins in to defeat buu! That’d be so frigg’n rad!!

    Translation:

The movie demands rare locations, and Durango is full of these. The movie requires a lot of landscapes that are hardly populated and uncommon.

The casting for extras at Durango is done. From 1700 people that auditioned, only 1000 are going to be used, which is still a lot.

I think the 1,000 extra’s will likely be the viewers in the World Tournament.

  12. Anonymous Says:

well if you think that goku meets chi chi for the first time in this movie, i dont think gohan will be turning up in it will he.

gohan wont be in this movie, maybe in a later film.

This film has alot of potential, and alot of people doubted the transformers movie and said it would be rubbish.

i think the same thing will happen with this movie, people will say its gonna be crap but it will blow peoples freakin minds!!!!

    You’ll see

    …I’m pretty sure that person meant *grandpa* Gohan, not Goku’s son. ^^;

700 thousand !!! That is a jack load of people that want to be in that film….I mean heck I would love to be an extra but sadly I cant. So this is probably the tournament scene where all the people evacuate after piccolo starts to go on a rampage

  15. Anonymous Says:

no god damn way 700,000 people auditioned dude. i guarentee thats a typo. that would take months just to audtition people to be extras. chances are, they’ll fill in the rest of the people with copies or cgi

  16. Anonymous Says:

There is a Typo all right. The correct number is 1700 people. The original article in spanish says “Mil 700″, which means 1700.
