Loading ...Emmy Rossum Talks Bulma
I guess I jumped the gun when I said we wouldn’t be getting any news due to the holiday. While this isn’t anything huge, it is still worth a mention. Emmy Rossum (Bulma) spoke briefly about her character on her Myspace blog.
Sorry I’ve been rather quiet for a bit, I’ve been working on a very exciting new film that I’m shooting outside the US. I’m working with the great Chow Yun Fat and I’m very excited about the role, which is so different than any role I’ve ever played. I love the character and I’m excited to get to share something so fun with you. In prep for the film I’ve been training very hard, learning how to fight, fire a gun, weapons training and even some martial arts. It’s fun to play such a different character when I am such a pacifist in real life. Speaking of pacifisim and peace, I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy holiday and New Year.

Bulma knowing Martial Arts? >.> But other then that its pretty awesome Ms. Rossum likes her character. I feel a bit better about the portrayal of Bulma on this film.

Bulma is a SCIENTIST not a FIGHTER!!! lawl Still would be cool to see pissed off Bulma open a can of whup-ass on someone thought.. especially if it’s with an uzi!! hahaha

She sounds so sweet, like Bulma should be .. i Iam sure she can be a bitch when she comes into a bad situtation !! Just like her .. BULMA ; ) I would love to hear her singing “Romantic Ageru Yo” It would be sooo cool … if they put that Song as the Ending of the MOVIE : )

Yes, Bulma is a SCIENTIST this is true, BUT in my synchronisation (from my land germany) from dragonball (old series) Bulma has say to Goku, that she is the best in her class, how can kung fu!
Gokus answer/quention was: “But Bulma, somebody (the Red Ribbon Army) would the DBs, too, it is dangerous for you.
And then she has him tell that she was the best in her class, who can kung fu!
(It was in Gokus two Adventure, who Bulma has repair the dragonradar and she would be with goku, again, for searching the dragonballs and in that time she has build this thing, who she can “magical” be little, little, little girl, because so can Goku with her on Jindujun travel)

Remember people, she’s ALSO a scientist as I’ve read on Chud.com, and a mechanical genious and what not. In Dragonball she also works with weaponry as PART of mechanics so I think an ass-kickin Bulma would be really cool^^

I don’t have an issue with Emmy Rossum, it’s the movie I’m worried about. The script makes close ot no sense for the world and story of Dragonball, ESPECIALLY with Goku being in high school! What the heck??? And where’s Krillin and what’s Mai doing with Piccolo??
With Rossum: I love her as an actress, I just hope she can pull off Bulma. And even if Bulma said she was a top student with Kung Fu, point out to me where exactly she demonstrates it? If I’m not mistaken, her genius never relied on anything or anyone aside from her guns, capsules, and the Z fighters for protection. -_-;

to the haterz, her martial arts is probably a small part of her acting(heck, shes probably even refering to her self-defence stuff, not too heavy Z-fighter stuff), since shes also relying more on guns like she was in the anime. and like the other guy mentioned, her gunmanship is part of being a mechanic scientist, like she was in Dragonball!!! and id LOVE to see her kick more butt in DB rather than see her whine and complain more and rely on the Z-fighters acting like a lazy beeotch in the back. women like that make my skin crawl
oh and in Dragonball, Mai was with Piccolo and Pilaf and that other guy, but it was kinda forced, but yh in this movie, shes a second-in-command or something like that, as weird as that sounds
but hey cmon, how do you think they’re actually gonna cram a 100episode+-anime into a 2 hour time span (at the least). Changes have to be made. And yh there are critics out there who just dont know the world of Dragonball and could care less about the original anime… and judge it by the acting, plotline, as the movie itself, and so on, so they’ll have to make it “realistic” :p changes were made to make the movie more understandable or something like that… :p
being optimistic, im lookin forward to the movie! it couldnt possibly be that bad! considering how Spiderman, Batman, or Transformers, turned out (and i like em A LOT ), im accepting the changes as “a new part” of D, and to avoid adaptation CHEEZINESS~~~(brr) remember its only BASED on/an ADAPTATION of DB
and if u also give it a thought as to why these hollywood “professional” ppl chose these actors to do our DB cast in the first place, there just HAS to be a reason that goes BEYOND how closely they resemble the characters, such as how well they can ACT them out. There should be some hope there, Hollywood people couldnt be THAT stupid when it comes to adaptations of a huge show like DB… hopefully not…. :p have FAITH!!!
